Norfik — Xerxes
3D-scanned sculpture turned album artwork and music video
3D-scanned a poolside statue on vacation, reduced the .obj, and used After Effects particle systems and audio syncing to create atmospheric album artwork and a full music video.
Found a statue in the pool on vacation. Used a 3D scanning app to sample it from real life, exported the mesh, and reduced the .obj to a workable file size. What started as a spontaneous experiment became the foundation for an entire visual project.
Brought the 3D scan into After Effects and used particle systems, audio syncing, and atmospheric effects to create both the album artwork and a full music video for “Xerxes” under the Norfik project. Every visual element driven by the audio.
Xerxes
Full music video built around the 3D-scanned sculpture — particle systems, atmospheric effects, and audio-reactive visuals.
From Scan to Screen
From a poolside 3D scan to a finished music video and album artwork — scanning the statue, reducing the geometry, and building the visuals in After Effects.
Captured the sculpture using a mobile 3D scanning app, walking around it to build a complete mesh. The raw scan was millions of polygons — reduced it down to a workable .obj while preserving the detail that made it interesting.
In After Effects, the 3D model became the centerpiece for particle systems that responded to the audio track. Every bass hit and melodic shift moves the visuals.
Album Artwork
Static artwork derived from the music video's visual language — the 3D-scanned sculpture rendered with atmospheric particle effects for streaming platforms and distribution.
